End the year with a hike on the Appalachian Trail

PLEASE WEAR BLAZE ORANGE AS WE WILL BE ON STATE GAME LANDS AND SHARING THAT SPACE WITH HUNTERS. We will meet at Rt. 309 for a 4 mile hike to the Allentown Shelter. At the shelter we will eat lunch and enjoy shared goodies. After a suitable time for socializing, we will hike 4 miles back to our cars. Anyone who would like a shorter 2 mile hike to the Shelter may join us at Fort Franklin Road. Bring lunch, water, and a snack item to share with the group. Since we will be spending time at the shelter, bring an extra layer of clothing to stay warm. No dogs or alcoholic beverages. Steady rain or snow on morning of hike cancels this event.

Refreshing winter hike.

Bring water, snack and lunch. Wear layers, gloves, hiking shoes and bring hiking poles as needed. Directions - Coming from Cedar Crest Blvd, turn right onto Fish Hatchery Road. After you cross the bridge, turn RIGHT immediately into the parking lot (use this GPS Coordinates: 40.563439, -75.511794). Don't park in the Fish Hatchery parking lot on your left. Join us for a walk through Quakertown

We'll meet at the Eagle/Local in Quakertown and stay together as we head down to the lighted Park at 4th. Once there, people can walk at their own pace as we circle around the different paths. After the walk we'll head back to the 200 year old historic Eagle/Local, a familiar local dive bar. As it is dark now, please wear bright clothing and/or bring a flashlight. Loop hike to the Pulpit and Pinnacle

NEW MEET TIME: 10:30am This is a loop hike, starting at the Hamburg Reservoir parking lot, first climbing to Pulpit Rock and then onward to the Pinnacle for spectacular views of the Lehigh Valley from both locations. This is not a beginner's hike due to the 1000' ascent and very rocky terrain. If there is snow on the ground, microspikes or other traction devices will be mandatory. Bring a least 2L of water and lunch / snacks. Steady rain or snow cancels.

We will be walking through town to the lighted park and can enjoy some refreshments when we are done walking by meeting back at The Proper Brewing Company for appetizers and drinks.
