We'll set up car pools and leave from the Day's Inn parking lot located at the junction of Routes 22 & 309. Plan to meet by 11:45; WE WILL LEAVE PROMPTLY AT NOON!

Hike to the wonderful Pinnacle Overlook via the Appalachian Trail.

Scenic Loop Hike. Uphill climb on the Appalachian Trail to the Pulpit Rock Overlook. Continue on to the Pinnacle Overlook. Dirt road walk along AT to the Helicopter pad. Finish the loop walking downhill along a stream and past the Hamburg Reservoir. We will take a lunch break at the Pinnacle. Optional pizza stop after the hike. Meet 8:30 at the Days Inn parking lot, located at the intersection of Rt. 22 and Rt. 309 N, which is 1/4 mile east of the Lehigh Valley interchange of the Northeast extension of the turnpike, or meet at the Hamburg Reservoir at 9:30.

We will then bushwack up to the AT, grab a view from Bear Rocks, return to Bake Oven Knob road via the AT. Bring Water and snacks please wear sturdy shoes. Meet at Eckerd Drug in Walnutport.

Hike at Lehigh Gorge and Glen Onoko.

After a climb through rhododendron to the top of the falls we'll walk along the ridge, take a long pause overlooking the Lehigh Gorge, and descend more gently. Bring lunch and water, wear sturdy shoes. Rain cancels. Meet at Eckerd Drugs, Walnutport. Call for Leader for further information.

Hike Bake Oven Knob to Lehigh Gap along the Appalachian Trail.

Hike 11 miles from Bake Oven Knob to the Lehigh Gap. This is one of the nicer hikes in Pa. There is a wonderful vista at Bake Oven Knob. This is an AT hike and there is some rock scrambling. We will take two side trails during this hike. The first will be a scenic bypass along the top of the ridge for about a mile. Later, we again exit the AT to hike the North Trail which yields wonderful views including the towns of Palmerton, Bowmanstown, and Lehighton. Optional pizza stop after the hike. Meet 8:30 at the Days Inn parking lot, located at the intersection of Rt. 22 and Rt. 309 N, which is 1/4 mile east of the Lehigh Valley interchange of the Northeast extension of the turnpike, or meet at the Lehigh Gap parking lot at 9:30. This is the lot located east of Rt. 248 via a short dirt road, and just south of Rt. 873.
