We’ll hike scenic trails at a moderate pace from the Delaware Water Gap Village up along the mountain rim to Mt. Minsi and beyond to Totts Gap where we’ll have lunch and return.

There will be a gradual 1,150 foot ascent during the initial 2.7 miles. Wear sturdy shoes, bring plenty of water, lunch, snacks and camera. No Pets. Rain cancels. Meet 9:00 A.M. at McDonalds in Wind Gap,PA.

Hike along the Delaware Canal Towpath.

We will head north from New Hope to Center Bridge; cross bridge to Stockton, NJ; hike south along the Raritan Canal Towpath to Lambertville, NJ, and cross back into New Hope where we will spend a little time after the hike. Bring snack and water; no dogs. Rain cancels. Call leader to confirm.

Loop hike Starting at the DWG visitor center, climbing Mt Tammany, then continuing to Sunfish Pond.

This 12 mile hike starts on the Mt Tammany Trail with a 1200 ft climb of Mt. Tammany. We will continue along the ridge for several miles, then turn onto the spur trail which takes us to Sunfish Pond. After hiking around Sunfish Pond we will return via Dunnfield Creek Trail. Meet at 8:30 AM at the McDonald's parking lot in the 25th Street shopping center in Palmer Township, just west of Easton OR at 9:30 at the Delaware Water Gap visitors center which is at the first exit on I80 in NJ when heading east from PA.

Ride from Western Terminus of Schuylkill Bike Path to the Philadelphia Museum of Art then return for total of 44 miles.

Starting at the Western Terminus of Schuylkill Bike Path (Lower Perkiomen Valley Park) we will ride east 22 miles to the Philadelphia Museum of Art and park our bikes for short exploration of Center City area. Lunch break will be 12 miles into the returning 22 mile trip, for a total of 44 miles. Meeting time is 9:00 am at the Days Inn parking lot just east of the NE extention of the turnpike or 10:00 am at starting location. All bicycle styles acceptable. Helmets required. Expect riders from other clubs to attend.

Hike 10 miles on Saturday and 7.5 miles on Sunday in the Dolly Sods Wilderness Area of West Virginia - THIS EVENT IS NOW FULL.

Sat 05/03/2008: Dolly Sods Loop hike of 10 miles in the Dolly Sods Wilderness Area of West Virginia. More than 2000 ft of total climbing on this hike. We will start on the East end of the park for this 10 mile Circuit Hike. Sun 05/04/2008: Dolly Sods Loop hike of 7.5 miles. Approx 2000 ft of elevation gain. This 7.5 mile Circuit Hike will take us on a Strenuous climb. Sturdy hiking boots, water and a lunch is required for both hikes. These hikes are scouting hikes as the leader has not done them. The trails do not have blazes and signs are not being replaced as they become damaged. For this reason allow for the possibility of changes in the hikes. Please expect to be screened if you have not previously hiked with Al. Due to cabin limitations, group size has been limited to 14 people. We will drive to WV Friday afternoon. Expect to hike with Allentown Hiking Club members and AMC members. Contact leader for more details.

We'll be working near Parryville where the Pohopco Creek joins the Lehigh River. Time and details will be forthcoming on the D&L website: www.delawareandlehigh.org. Lunch will NOT be served, so bring your own food and beverage. Dress for the weather. We'll meet for car pooling about 1/2 hour before the scheduled start time at Rite-Aid in Walnutport.
