The primary plan is to go to Intercourse, PA Fire company for breakfast on Sat. Then go to Glen Brendles' Farm for a 1/2 hour tour. (He's a "well-oiled" machine according to GRIT Magazine in the Sept '16 issue). Then walk the "Low Line Rail Trail" to Rte.41 and back to Mt. Vernon Road.
UPDATE - The camping and the stay at Old Stone Guest House are not an option now. You are welcome to day hike on either day but you MUST call for meeting place for Sunday.
On Sunday morning we'll go to the Gap Diner along Rte 30 and hike the "Lowline Railtrail" from Rte 41 to Rte 896 and back. This will be a bit longer than Saturday's walk.
You MUST contact the leaders for meeting place for this hike on Sunday.

Bethlehem and BachHike to a Bach At Noon concert
Meet at Illick's Mill parking lot for a 2 mile hike on the Monocacy Trail to center city Bethlehem, wher we will enjoy a Bach Choir Bach At Noon concert in the Central Moravian Church. The concert is free, but freewill donations are gratefully appreciated. After the concert we will eat lunch near the Monocacy Creek and then hike the 2 miles back to our cars. Bring lunch and water. Steady rain on the morning of the hike cancels the hike portion, but we will meet at 11:30 in the balcony of the church for the concert (73 W. Church St.). No calls on morning of hike.

The Allentown Hiking Club maintains a lock along the D&L trail. Lock #2 is in the Lehigh Gorge area. Please bring gloves, lunch and water. Those familiar with this project can meet at the Nesquehoning trestle at about 10:15Am.

Please arrive by 4:15pm for a 4:30pm departure. As we will need to make it up to the Pinnacle by sunset, the group will leave on time. Please plan accordingly.
Come and watch the full moon rise from the Pinnacle! April’s Full Moon, the Full Pink Moon, heralds the appearance of the pink moss, or wild ground phlox—one of the first spring flowers.
This is an 8 mile loop hike, starting at the Hamburg Reservoir parking lot and then going up to the Pulpit and Pinnacle for spectacular views of the rising full moon. Moonrise is at 8:10pm and sunset is at 7:47pm.
This is not a beginner's hike due to the ~1000' ascent, rocky terrain and nighttime conditions. Sturdy hiking boots are recommended. Bring a headlamp or flashlight, at least 2 liters of water and food/snacks. Rain or cloudy conditions cancels.

This preserve features woodland trails, large rock outcroppings, small stream crossings, moderate inclines, and several boardwalks. We will start the hike from Klines Lane parking lot at 9am. Sturdy hiking boots are recommended as the terrain is moderately rocky. Bring water and snacks.

Hike a series of short trails at the LGNC. Meet at the Osprey House hike the Prairie Warbler trail to the LNE come down the Bobolink trail and return on the D & L trail. There will be some elevation change. Wear hiking boots bring water and hiking poles would make the elevation changes easier.

Lehigh Furnace Gap Boulder Field and AT HikeThis is a somewhat challenging hike along the Appalachian ridge which will include 1.1 miles on an exposed unstable boulder field and a stop at Outerbridge Shelter. Not for beginners! Many great views north and south!
Leaving from and returning to Lehigh Furnace Gap on the AT, this “loop” hike will include portions of the AT as well as the north and south trails on either side of it. If your main purpose is to go fast and get exercise, please consider another hike. We will be moving at a good clip, but stopping to enjoy the vistas and sightings along the way. Numerous views both north and south of the Northeast Extension and Lehigh River. Wear sturdy hiking boots and bring at least 2 liters of water, lunch and snacks. Rain cancels.
