AT Hike - Delaware Water Gap, PA - Lake Lenape - Mt. MinsiHike the AT from Lake Lenape up to Mt. Minsi and beyond to the towers on the PA side of the Gap. Our return trek will be a series of trails including the Minsi Fire Rd and the Table Rock spur.
Great views of NJ, Mt. Tammany and the Delaware River from several lookouts. Wear sturdy shoes, bring a minimum of 2 quarts of water, lunch and snacks. Rain may cancel or delay. We will drive down on Thursday, May 7th. Friday and Saturday we will hike nearby area’s where we can see Mountain Top removal and hopefully see where Coal River Mountain is being saved! We will visit Kayford Mountain as it provides a devastating close up view of an active mountain top removal site.

Horse-Shoe Trail HikeSection 3 - Warwick County Park to Fire Tower Rd. (French Creek State Park)
Almost half of this section is located in Hopewell Furnace National Historic Site and French Creek State Park. Dozens of charcoal rings are visible from the trail. This section also traverses the large boulders in the "River of Rocks" near St. Peter's Village.

We will car pool to Bake Oven Knob and shuttle to the start point at Lehigh Gap. Bring lunch, water and footwear for PA AT rocky conditions.

Birds, Bees, Flowers and TreesLeisurely walk thru the forests and meadows of Jacobsburg State Park.
We will be keeping an eye and ear out for birds as well as wild flowers. There is a gradual climb to reach the meadows but once there, the walk is flat. Bring binoculars if you have them and a camera if you wish. No dogs. Rain cancels. Email or call leader for meeting time.

Schuykill River TrailWe will hike a part of the Schuykill River Trail, also known as the Bartram Trail. This is a rail to trail that is well groomed except for about a 30 yard section at the access point in Port Clinton.
This section will require some scrambling over a steep rocky embankment. We will hike from Port Clinton 3.8 miles North have lunch then return the same way. Please bring lunch and water. No Pets.

Lehigh Gorge Day HikeHike up the Glen Onoko falls to Overlook of Lehigh Gorge.
Hike up the Glen Onoko falls. Continue on the fire road and up to the Lehigh Gorge Overlook. From the Overlook continue on the fire road finally working down the mountain and onto the bike path. Once on the bike path a several mile walk back to Glen Onoko. Those who have not hiked with the leaders will be screened. Optional Pizza stop after the hike. Registration Required.

Horse-Shoe Trail HikeSection 2 - Lower Pine Rd. to Warwick County Park
About half of this section will be on narrow, hilly, scenic back roads through Chester County horse country. Trails passes historic Fink truss bridge built in 1847. About two miles from the end of the hike, there will be a "wet foot" creek crossing (which can be bypassed with a detour which adds a mile to the hiking distance).

National Trails Day EventThe Lehigh Valley Trail Tenders, the volunteers of the D&L Nat'l Heritage Corridor, are sponsoring a new community event in Bethlehem on this National Trails Day.
"Travel the Towpath", a celebration of Bethlehem's most popular trail, the Lehigh Canal Towpath, aka the D&L Trail, will take place along more than two miles of this historic trail. This will be an opportunity for the public to form a better appreciation of the trail's history, ecology and recreational opportunities.
