Conestoga Trail - Section 1Hike the northern section of the trail from the junction of the Conestoga and Horse-Shoe Trails at Pumping Station Road south to Millway Road.
This section crosses Game Lands, follows Hammer Creek, skirts Speedwell Lake, and then rejoins Hammer Creek. We will traverse farmland and pastures, and pass a covered bridge. The last two miles are on roads.
This is a rescheduling of the hike postponed due to snow in January.

*NOTE* This is a challenging 17.1 mile hike on Saturday and additional 4.2 miles on Sunday. Please be physically able to complete.
Meeting at end point of hike at PA 309 Summit and leaving chase vehicles. Then car-pooling to Reservoir Rd. Hamburg start point. The hike will be Saturday for Reservoir Rd. parking area (490 Reservoir Rd. in Hamburg) to Allentown Shelter (overnight) then Sunday hike to the parking area at PA 309 (2620 W Penn Pike Andreas PA 18211). We should be returning to the parking area around 10:30AM. Then driving hikers back to pick up cars at start point. All welcome, but due to vehicle shuttling, feel free to call me the day before if planning on attending. Hike around Sunfish Pond and return via Dunnfield Creek Trail. First time hikers with Leader will be screened. Optional pizza stop after hike. No children under 16 due to the strenuous nature of the hike. Dogs allowed.
