Monthly Meeting - Franco Park Pot Luck DinnerJoin us for our annual summer pot luck. Drinks and hotdogs will be provided. We will meet at Franco Park in Salisbury Township. Directions: I-78 N towards Allentown to Lehigh St and north to Downeyflake Lane (1st light). Right to S. 12th St right at the light left at end onto Emmaus Ave. Follow Emmaus Ave to Honeysuckle Rd turn right at Salisbury Fire Company (Honeysuckle Rd), turn left onto Black River Rd. Franco Park is 1/4 mile on the left.

AT from Rt 309 to Hawk Mountain on the July 4th HolidayChallenging 13 mile day hike on the Appalachian Trail.
Hiking 13 miles along the AT from Rt 309 to Hawk Mountain on Friday, the July 4th Holiday. The hike will end early enough for those who are going to events later in the afternoon. For those who have not made firm plans, one of the hikers attending the event, lives near where we are hiking and has graciously invited us back for a post hike dinner at her house. Group size will be limited. Registration Required.

Ricketts Glen State ParkHike a series of trails to view 22 named Waterfalls and Lake Jean
We’ll hike a steep ascent of nearly 1000 feet via the Falls Trail to see 13 named waterfalls, then on to Lake Jean for Lunch. We’ll extend our lunch break for those who wish to relax or take a refreshing splash. The beach area has a beach house, showers and a concession stand. Since our return trek is nearly 6 miles, it is important to wear dry clothing - please pack swim attire if you plan to swim. Our return hike will descend alongside 8 other named waterfalls followed by a short loop hike on the Evergreen Trail to see Adams Falls. This is a moderately paced scenic hike with numerous breaks to enjoy the Falls. Sturdy hiking footwear is required for this terrain. Bring a minimum of 2 quarts of water, Lunch & Snacks. No pets. Rain may cancel or delay. You may call, email and/or visit: Mountain Trekkers for updates and other information such as directions, map links, rain cancellation or delay. Meeting Place: 8:00 AM at the Walnutport Rite Aid, 300 S. Best Ave. Walnutport, PA 18088. We’ll depart 8:15 AM. Fort those driving directly to Ricketts Glen, we’ll meet at the Rt 118 Evergreen Parking Lot by 10:00 AM.

AT Hike - Delaware Water Gap to Totts GapHike the Appalachian Trail from Lake Lenape south to Totts Gap in PA.
We’ll hike at a moderate to brisk pace to Mt. Minsi and beyond to Totts Gap on the PA side of the Gap. Our return trek will be on various trails such as the Mt. Minsi fire road and other side trails. Great views of Mt. Tammany and the Delaware River from several lookouts. Steep 1,150 foot ascent during the initial 2.7 miles. Wear sturdy shoes, bring a minimum of 2 quarts of water, lunch and snacks. No Pets. Rain may cancel or delay.
