Old Timers Long Walk Series, No.1The Fish Hatchery in Allentown "Li'l-Le-Hi Trout Nursery"
7:07pm - This hike is, as far as I know, unique to the City of Allentown as it is the only city that I know of, with a fish hatchery! We will walk until someone wants to turn around (about halfway) and come back to our cars. We will come back at a later date to finish it. Perhaps in April when Mercedes kids will be playing at Bogart's Bridge for the St. Luke's half marathon. We will see!

Midweek Ricketts Glen Day Hike (7-8 miles)Loop hike around the 21 Waterfalls of Ricketts Glen State Park
I'm hoping to miss the crowds and hike this on a Tuesday. We will meet at the parking lot on Route 118 and hike the lollipop loop north and then clockwise to view all 21 waterfalls of Ricketts Glen. Trail conditions are likely to be muddy and slick and therefore sturdy hiking boots are required, and trekking poles are suggested. We will be taking our time to enjoy the waterfalls and the views and I'm expecting this to take a full day. Bring at least 2L of water plus lunch/snacks. Heavy rains or thunderstorms will cancel. If it is of interest, we can also explore the <1 mile loop on the south side of Route 118.

Old Timers Long Walk Series, No.2The Seed Farm - Lehigh County newest park in Vera Cruz.
7:07pm - Tonight we walk at the Lehigh County's newest park at the "Seed Farm" on Vera Cruz Road, up the hill from the Turnpike. Take Route 29 to Emmaus. At Fulton Bank, turn onto Main St for about a quarter mile (if that). Turn right onto 10th St, between Dominos and Cottman Transmissions. As you go under the railroad, turn on your RIGHT T.S. Turn RIGHT onto Pennsylvania Ave. You will soon come to a Y. At that point, bear LEFT. That long and windy road (Vera Cruz Rd N) will lead to your park. Look for it on your right about 1 mile from the crossroads in downtown Vera Cruz.

Old Timers Long Walk Series, No.3Lehigh County 2nd newest park - Overlook?
7:07pm - This short walk will be to Lehigh County's second newest park. Overlook? Direction - take I-78 to Summit Lawn Exit, turn left onto Rock Rd and cross Route 145. Look for WFMZ towers. Right there is a small parking area. That's where we will be meeting at 7:07pm. We will take a very short walk to the overlook and nosey around the Lehigh Valley Amateur Astronomical Society's observatories. They will not be open that night as it will not be dark yet.
However, you can make arrangements by calling them and come back later. Always leave them wanting more, not less! While you are there make arrangements to go to the field meet at Pulpit Rock (by invitation only). It used to be that the star party on Rock Rd was on Saturday night when the moon was the fullest and the field meet was the Saturday night when the moon was the weakest. Please call LVAS as things tend to change! Details
