Trexler Preserve – Choose Ur Own Adventure 9 or 18 milesLooking at a map, you wouldn’t give this park a second glance, but the Trexler Nature Preserve is a local jewel. It has some wonderful hills & valleys, amazing wildlife, several covered bridges, and a plethora of stunning views... I hope you can join us for an excellent day on the trails.
We’ll be keeping the group together throughout the day, so it’s important that you can maintain a 3 mph average pace. But this is a perfect hike for those people who want to attempt a 3 mph hike because there will be a pre-planned bail out at 9 miles into the hike.
We’ll be first hiking the red trail which loops the boundary of the park. This will take us through the North Range of the park which has some truly great views of the area. At roughly 9 miles, we’ll be back at our cars, where people can call it a day if they want.
For the rest of us, we’ll continue to explore the park using the interior trails. During this time, we’ll go by the Bison & Elk pens, the river, the covered bridges, etc. Like I mentioned, this park has a lot to offer… Hope to see you there!!!
