Climb scenic Glen Onoko Falls and traverse a section of Broad Mountain.

After the initial climb we'll be on level terrain. Lunch will be at an overlook where we can take in the fall colors of the gorge, then it's time to find an obscure rock stairway to descend to our starting point. NO PETS! Meet at the Days Inn, Route 309 and 22. Call leader for further info.

Monthly meeting of the Allentown Hiking club at St.Timothy's Lutheran Church 140 South Ott Street Allentown, Pa.

There will be a business meeting followed by refreshments. There will also be a presentation by ATC Mid Atlantic Regional Director Karen Lutz. Karen will address current ATC issues and respond to our concerns.

Directions to White Haven: PA trnpk(I-476) to I-80 W, White Haven exit (Rt 437), right at end of ramp and follow 437 to Berwick St, right on Berwick then left on Main St, 2 blocks to large gravel parking lot.

Loop Hike starting at the Osprey House at the Lehigh Gap Nature Center.

This hike will go on several trails and return to Osprey House. Some of the trails we will use will include LNE,Prairie Grass,Charcoal,and a section of the Appalachian trail. Please bring snacks and water. Sturdy shoes are recommended. We will meet at Osprey house. If you do not know the location of Osprey House call for directions.

Hike out and back along the Lehigh Canal Towpath from Sand Island to the boat launch at Route 33.

This hike is about 10 miles in total, but the towpath is basically flat the entire way. Nice walk along the canal with some excellent vistas of the Lehigh River. Call for meeting time and place. No dogs. Rain cancels.

Directions to Glen Onoko: from downtown Jim Thorpe folllow Rt 209 S to Rt 903 bridge over Lehigh River. Cross bridge and follow 903 to .25 mile. Go straight where 903 bears right and you are on Coalport Rd. Go to first left turn (park entrance), follow until you see Trail Tenders. From Pa trnpk (I-476) take Mahoning Valley exit 74 follow 209 S into Jim Thorpe and follow above directions.
