New TrailHike several trails at Lehigh Gap Nature Center.
We will hike two new trails the Prarie Grass trail and the Chestnut Oak trail. The Chestnut Oak trail is only partially completed so be prepared to do some bushwacking. We will then loop back to the starting point on either the LNE trail or the D&L Rail to Trail. Please bring water and a lunch. Meet at Osprey House at the Lehigh Gap Nature Center.

AT Little Gap to Smith GapHike from Little Gap Rd by Weathering Knob, Goose Knob, Delps Trail to Smith Gap Rd. There will be some rocks to climb over leaving Little Gap and some good views of Aquashicola Creek.
Call leaders for meeting place. Bring water and lunch and wear appropriate footwear for PA AT.
This hike replaces Smith Gap to Wind Gap for this date which had been duplicated.

Autumn Pocono Waterfalls HikeEnjoy more than 8 waterfalls in the Delaware Water Gap National Recreation Area.
We’ll hike along 2 creeks that meander through dense woods and old stands of hemlocks. We’ll first visit 5 renowned waterfalls along the Dingmans Creek as we hike to Childs Park, have lunch and shuttle back to Dingmans Falls. Thereafter, we’ll hike along the nearby Hornbecks Creek to enjoy a series of smaller but equally beautiful waterfalls known as Indian Ladder Falls. Good traction is necessary hence sturdy hiking footwear is required. Bring a minimum of 2 quarts of water, lunch and snacks. Rain may cancel or delay. DLNHC Tender's ProjectWe will take a second crack at cleaning Lock 28 south of White Haven from 9 AM to noon.
Our first attempt two weeks ago was washed out. Please bring pruning loppers and bow saws if you can. We will provide water, working gloves and some other tools. Wear long sleeves, long pants and waterproof footwear if possible. We will quit around noon and have a hearty lunch at the south end of the parking lot. PLEASE CALL BY NOV 2ND TO REGISTER FOR LUNCH. Those departing from the Allentown area can meet to car-pool at the Day's Inn at Rts. 309 & 22 at 8:00 AM.
We are meeting in the parking lot at the north entrance to Lehigh Gorge State Park. The lot is just under the Interstate 80 bridge and is accessed thru White Haven. If you need further directions call Dennis' cell 610-984-4753.

AT & North Trail Circle Hike from Rte 873 SlatingtonWe climb up the AT, turning up the North Trail to the top of the ridge.
Good views to the north, then returning to the forest and the AT, back down to Rte 873. Bring food, water & sturdy shoes. Rain cancels. Meet at Rite Aid in Walnutport.

Pinnacle Loop HikeLoop Hike including stops at the Pulpit and Pinnacle Overlook via the Appalachian Trail.
Scenic Loop Hike. Uphill climb on the Appalachian Trail to the Pulpit Rock Overlook. Continue on to the Pinnacle Overlook. Dirt road walk along AT pass the Helicopter pad and continuing another mile. Finish the loop walking downhill passing the Hamburg Reservoir. We will take a lunch break at the Pinnacle. Optional pizza stop after the hike. Contact leader for meeting time and place.

Big Pocono State Park & SGL 38 Scouting HikeSomething for everyone... your choice of a 6 or 12 mile hike, scenic views, bushwhacking, rock climbing and scouting a new trail.
We’ll hike a few scenic trails in Big Pocono State Park followed by some bushwhacking and rock climbing while scouting a new trail. Overall vertical climb is about 600 feet. Total distance is approx 6 miles which includes an estimated 1 mile for scouting. You can easily bail out after this segment or continue as follows:
For those hiking the 2nd segment in the adjacent State Game Land 38, we’ll hike a 5 mile loop via the Falls Trail to the Falls, Deep Lake and Wolf Swamp. If time permits, we’ll scout a new stream crossing located off the Falls Trail.
Registration is required. Please call or email by 8 PM Sat 11/22 for a meeting place and time.
Wear sturdy hiking shoes, bring at least 2 quarts of water, lunch, snacks and extra food if planning on hiking 12 miles. Optional: compass or GPS. Rain/snow may cancel or delay. Day Hike Plainfield Twp Rail TrailEasy walk to walk off that Thanksgiving turkey.
We will do this as a shuttle hike parking cars at both the Stockertown and Pen Argyl ends and hiking one way(Pen Arygl to Stockertown) No dogs. Heavy rain cancels. Wear comfortable shoes. Bring water and snacks. Meeting place is Park & Ride Rte 33 & William Penn Highway.

Monthly MeetingMonthly meeting of the Allentown Hiking Club at St Timothy's Lutheran Church, 140 South Ott St, Allentown, Pa. This is our holiday pot luck dinner meeting and everyone is requested to bring a festive dish to share. Beverages will be provided by the club.
There will be a business meeting after dinner and we will do scheduling for the winter quarter.
