Blowdown Maintenance Hike (6-8 miles)Looking for helpers on a maintenance hike leaving from 309 Summit to clear several blowdowns between Allentown Shelter and the Knife Edge. Please text me if you are able to join us.
We’ll be walking in from the 309 Summit AT parking lot carrying chainsaw(s) and associated safety equipment. If we get enough helpers, we’ll send one team east towards the Knife Edge and one west towards the Allentown Shelter. We will be requesting help with carrying equipment and removing cut logs from the trail. Some sections of the trail are very rocky and require good balance to navigate. Please wear some blaze orange, sturdy boots, and gloves. Clippers and/or small hand saws are also welcome. Bring water and lunch. No pets. Rain date: Thursday, 10-12-23.
