A challenging hike along the Appalachian ridge which includes 1.1 miles on an exposed unstable boulder field and passing over the NE extension tunnel. Many fine views north and south! Not for beginners or people with balance issues!

Leaving from and returning to Lehigh Furnace Gap on the AT, this out-and-back hike will primarily cover the AT with a side trip on the blue-blazed South Trail. We will be moving at a good clip when the trail is easy, but taking our time thru the boulders and stopping to enjoy the vistas and sights along the way. Numerous views both north and south of the Northeast Extension and Lehigh River. Wear sturdy hiking boots and bring at least 2 liters of water, lunch and snacks. No pets. Rain cancels.
