Slate Heritage Trail HikeHike from Slatington to Slatedale on the route of the former Lehigh Valley Railroad branch, and return to Slatington.
This rail trail follows the abandoned 1874 branch rail line that transported slate from quarries in northern Lehigh County to Slatington, where it connected with the main line. Features of the trail include a covered bridge, a refurbished railroad bridge, and a building made of slate.

Meeting place: Meet at the Slatington Trail Head parking lot on Main Street, just west of the Lehigh River.
