Tekening Hiking Trail System
Hike in PPL's Martins Creek Environmental Preserve to enjoy winter's open-wooded beauty.
The walk features varied woodlands, geological formations and scenic views of the Delaware River along its west bank. Also included is the Foul Rift Natural Area - a section of river enjoyed by local boaters for its brief whitewater section. The land was named Tekening by the Lenni Lenape Indians and means "in the wood." Wear sturdy shoes to suit weather conditions. Bring lunch and water for our stop at the wooden "terrace" overlooking the river.
